Proverbs 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.
The spermatic word sown into the womb of the spirit brings a harvest whether good or bad according to the words spoken. The Bible says whatever a man sows that will he also reap. So if your words are in agreement with the Word of God you will reap good things. However, if you are not in agreement with what God says, then you are in agreement with the evil one and you will reap those things.
Whatever you spoke in your yesterday is manifesting in your life today, will manifest tomorrow and these words are always creating your future. What kind of “seed”, what kind of words have you spoken and are you speaking. What are you creating in your days. What kind of future are you calling forth today. If our words do not line up with what the Word of God says, then we are in agreement with the god of this world, satan, and we shall have rotten fruit being brought forth from our tongue, across our lips and we shall have rotten fruit before us to eat. Is this the harvest you want? Is this legacy what you want to pass down your bloodline to your children and future generations? Is this the inheritance you want to leave?
Choose this day who you will serve. Choose this day what you will say and who you are aligning your words with in agreement.
Choose today your harvest for tomorrow.
We must be careful to only speak life to our children, husbands, our wives, people we love and people we encounter in our ever day lives. We want to try and always speak blessings and not curses. We must tame and train our tongue to line up with what the Word of God says and nothing else.
James the third Chapter has much to say about the, tongue.
1: My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation
2: For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.
3: Behold, we put bits in the horses’ mouths, that they may obey us; and we turn about their whole body.
4: Behold also the ships, which though they be so great, and are driven of fierce winds, yet are they turn about with a very small helm, whithersoever the governor listeth.
5: Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!
6: And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and is set on fire of hell.
7: For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind:
8: But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.
9: Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God.
10: Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, thee things ought not so to be.
11: Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter?
12: Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? Either a vine, figs? So can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh.
13: Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? Let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.
14: But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.
15: This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.
16: For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.
17: But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.
18: And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.
This Chapter is full of great insight and wisdom. It gives us examples in the natural world we live in of how a strong majestic animal such as a horse with just a bit in his mouth will obey our every command. His whole body will turn and respond to where we want him to go with this in his mouth.
Even great ships sailing the seas through storms and fierce winds can be turn with a small helm this way or that responding in spite of the tempest.
The tongue is the smallest member of our bodies, and yet with its arrogance and boasting can get us cast into the Lake of Fire for all eternity. The tongue can defile the whole body. Though beasts and birds, things of the sea may be tamed by mankind, the tongue no man can tame. It is unruly, evil and full of poison. With it we bless God and curse our brother who is made in His image and likeness. Only the Spirit of God can tame this unruly member. Only God can keep it under subjection.
When we finally submit our tongues to the Lord, he can use us so mightily to speak the oracles of God, speaking words of blessing and creativity to people and their futures and to their destiny. We can bless our children and pray words of healing and redemption over them just as our Lord has given us a Bible, a book full of blessings, direction, love, healing, all we need to prosper and live life abundantly serving him and building His Kingdom. We just need to let him tame this unruly tongue of ours to speak his words and eat the good fruit of them.
Remember in Genesis how God spoke and said, “Let there be light…” and light manifested at his command. We have this same power in a submitted tongue, a submitted life to him. We have the Spermatic Word of God in our mouths to set up and establish his Kingdom, to root out, pull down, and destroy and overthrow the kingdom of darkness, to call people out of darkness into his marvelous light. We can speak those things which are not as though they were and mixed with faith call them from our future into our now, into our present.
In the dominion, and authority given to us through the finished work at the cross, even demons must obey at the spoken words of our mouth. We can utter decrees and declare what shall be. We can proclaim liberty to the captives and health to the sick. By our words we can hold up the rain as Elijah did, reroute hurricanes, and command the sea to be still.
Matthew 12:34 O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.
35: A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.
36: But I say unto you. That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
37: For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.
You know where a person is spiritually and what they are creating with their mouth by spending just a few minutes around them and hearing what they are saying. The Bible also tells us that a heart with good treasure in it will bring forth good things but an evil man with an evil heart will bring forth evil things. And every idle word spoken will be judged. We shall be justified by our words or we shall be condemned by our words. We must speak rightly and justly according to what God says and the examples given us in the Holy Scriptures. It is what comes out of a man that defiles him. We do not want to defile ourselves. We want to speak blessings and not curses, because then we shall reap good things and not evil things upon us, our children, and our entire bloodline.
Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
This is a powerful word from Hebrews. This should admonish you more than ever to submit your unruly member, your tongue, to the Spirit of God realizing more than ever the power of the spoken word, the Spermatic Word of the Spirit.
Let your words be of the Holy Spirit creating good and not the words of the spirit of the god of this world, the devil. Because whether you spew out holy words or words of destruction they will have an effect, yeah, an eternal effect and they will also come back upon you as a boomerang. I want blessings to return upon my spiritual boomerang and not reap from the boomerang of evil!
The word of God is pure, and we should love it. Our lips should utter praise unto our Lord.
Proverbs 15:4 A wholesome tongue is a tree of life: but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit.
Here again the scriptures make it plain how we can speak a spermatic word of life with righteousness in our mouths but the opposite effect brings a gap or brokenness and separation in the spirit from all that is good, right and holy.
The following two scriptures, one from the *Psalms and one from *1 Peter are interestingly nearly the same verbage. When God tells me once about a thing I should obey, but when he is telling me twice with nearly the same language I really sit up and take spiritual notice.
*Psalm 34:13 Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.
*1 Peter 3:10 For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile.
Keeping your tongue from evil should be straight forward enough for every person to understand. What people do not want to grasp hold of is keeping your lips from “guile” or deceitfulness or cunning. This is something not practiced much these days. People think it’s ok to just let lies spew from their mouth and there is nothing wrong with being a little deceitful and cunning to get what you want and manipulating people in the process.
Nothing could be further from the truth. God does not wink at these things for any reason. What he has said he means. His word is true and settled forever in heaven. He does not change his mind to accommodate our sin. He is truth and cannot line up with our words. We must line up and speak what he has said.
James 1:26 If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man’s religion is vain.
Here we can see how we can deceive ourselves. Self deception is a rocky road at best. Once we let the enemy trick us into this kind of deception, we can get so lost in it we don’t even know we are deceived. We are caught up in a vicious religious cycle.
